Eating lunch today and I got to thinking about my day yesterday. A completely normal working day although the morning from 445am when I woke up until about 1pm was packed with paperwork, zooms and purchase orders. I couldn’t leave my office to get my littlest to school on time without taking away from time sensitive work so she was my wing girl all day. While eating, I thought about how thankful I am to have the clients that I do, a career that I’ve built and manage and all the flexibility that I’m afforded that comes with my day to day so that I could simultaneously place detailed orders, talk through blueprints and tile while grasping hands with my girl down her slide. This is not a glamorous job, in fact no small business truly is and Im stretched very thin most days but my purpose to work for myself has stood the test of time; time with and raising my children while they’re still young.
