One of my favorite shoots was with the Samburu. I woke at 4am and climbed a mountain in the dark, just to catch the sun rising behind them. These are honorable men—strong, brave, and deeply tied to the land. They live with the wild, not against it. Protecting wildlife isn’t just a duty—it’s part of who they are. As stewards of Northern Kenya’s fragile ecosystems, their presence is not only cultural but ecological—guardians whose ancient knowledge and sustainable ways are essential to the survival of the land itself. The Samburu community thrives on deep connection—to one another, to the animals, and to the wild earth beneath their feet.
