The idea that looking at beautiful artwork can impact the brain in a way similar to falling in love is not a new one, but recent research has provided empirical evidence to support this claim. In 2011, a study conducted by a team of neuroscientists at University College London found that looking at beautiful art triggers the release of dopamine in the brain, a chemical associated with pleasure and reward. This surge of dopamine can create feelings of euphoria and even activate the same areas of the brain that are activated when we fall in love. artroomsapp
