Flew from Philly to Florida… to pick up a ✨brand new airplane✨—then flew it home. No big deal 😎🛩️ (okay, HUGE deal). Early Thursday, my instructor and I flew down to Ft. Lauderdale, grabbed some road snacks 🚗💨 and drove a couple hours north to the Piper factory in Vero Beach—where we picked up a freshly-built Piper 100i, made specifically for our school. They make these in small batches, so flying one straight from the factory? Insanely cool. We flew it back up the coast with a fuel stop in Hilton Head 🌴, crashed for the night (not literally) in Raleigh 💤, and landed in Philly today. Still a student pilot, but this trip was a huge confidence builder—and such a rare experience. Our school just bought 10 brand new planes.
