Scientists at Northwestern University have created something incredible called legged metamachines. These tiny robots snap together like autonomous Lego pieces and are designed to survive tough outdoor environments. What makes them special is how they were designed. Instead of humans building them, the robots first evolved inside a computer simulation where AI searched for the most efficient body shapes. Only the best designs were then brought into the real world. Each module is a complete robot with its own motor, battery, and controller.
