Great Scott! Is that… Waldo? 🕵️‍♂️⚡️ For this project, I wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite films, Back to the Future, by recreating the iconic "vanishing" family portrait: Waldo style. This single shot was a massive technical "hybrid" challenge. Because the AI models struggled with keeping the faces consistent inside a frame-within-a-frame, I had to move beyond just prompting. How I built this: Pic 1: The final "Waldo Family" portrait. I used traditional VFX tracking and manual painting to fix the "freaky" AI smudges and ensure the likenesses of John Krasinski, Pedro Pascal, and Natalie Portman stayed sharp. Pic 2: The "Baby Waldo" version, testing the model's ability to maintain character traits across different ages. Pic 3: The original Marty McFly reference photo that started the obsession.
