When it comes to creative inspiration I believe receptivity is everything. I like to think of ideas as independent entities roaming the collective in search of a worthy host. The possibility of everything that can exist is merely waiting to be discovered. When we’re feeling clear and centred is when we are at our most receptive. It’s no coincidence that this is when we are most present also. It’s when the experience of inspiration and creativity is infinite and effortlessness. It’s sometimes referred to as a flow state. The opposite can be said when we’re feeling stressed, distracted or under pressure. Instead of effortless flow the energy begins to feel blocked or stagnant. Like feeling stuck. As a commercial creative that can also begin to feel like being unemployed which further feeds the cycle of stress and stagnation.
