‘Sacrifice’ One of my pieces made during my exploration with natural pigments and processes. In an instant I reached for a can of spray paint, a habitual ‘go-to’ and after many hours into this painting I burnt it, a symbolism of sorts. The skin peeled off, the ashes now in an urn, instead of draping the skins on a deity as the Aztec’s once did with their ‘sacrifice’, I used the very skin and ash to paint another.. and the cycle continues.. death and rebirth. #pamelamasik_artist #canadianartist #canadianart #cdmxart #ondamx
