The property I used to work at was full of infected isopods! I’d be working outside and see a bright spot of purple on the ground pretty frequently, and any log I flipped would usually have at least a few. It is a disturbing virus, but it is a natural part of how isopod populations are controlled. It certainly killed a lot of roly-polies, but there was never any shortage of them anywhere. #bugs #isopods #insects #arthropods #nature
