While the training for orthopedic surgery (or any surgical specialty) can be pretty intense, you can find a work-life balance once you‘re done. However, you may have to seek it out, which is what I did. 😷 For me the solution was starting my own practice, but I realize that might not be the best solution for everyone. 🦴 Either way, the life of a human carpenter is very rewarding, especially for the differences you're able to make in the lives of your patients. I would definitely choose orthopedic surgery again, especially since I never want to have to calculate another delta anion gap. #orthopedicsurgery #career #residency #physician
