This is particularly in contrast with our urban systems where, in lieu of climate change, a few feet of floodwater is ample to bring entire cities to a standstill. However, at the very heart of the place, women huddle around a communal kitchen fire, preparing breakfast on a cold morning, weeks before the floods.
