The ideas start to feel familiar, and suddenly you find yourself deep in overthinking mode. “How do I create something fresh?” That’s usually my cue to go hunting for elements I haven’t used before. A new prop, a different light, a subtle styling shift, or even a whole new mood. Anything to spark a different feeling and layer the story in a new way. For this particular look, my team had set up a background meant for another outfit. But last minute, that outfit had to be moved to the second look. It had already been a packed week, and I didn’t want to wear my team out. So I asked for something simpler. “Let’s just add the poly boards instead of a full background change.” A few minutes later, I remembered my new favorite plant and asked for it to be brought onto the set.
