Riley Roberts (stoneflyri) knows his home river intimately—its wild trout, its quiet back channels and, increasingly, the trash that collects along its banks.   After one float on the Truckee River turned up more garbage than fish, Riley helped turn frustration into action. He co-founded the Truckee Trash-and-Cast Cleanup and Fishing Competition (trashandcast), bringing together hundreds of volunteers to remove waste from the river below Reno. In just a few years, that effort has pulled more than 150 cubic yards of trash from the Truckee and built a community committed to its future.   Riley’s impact doesn’t stop there.
