Not the news we wanted to hear today. 😡⁣ ⁣ The International Olympic Committee has officially banned transgender women athletes from competing in women’s events at the Olympics with the introduction of a new eligibility policy.⁣ ⁣ The IOC’s new policy closely aligns with Donald Trump’s executive order on sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. 🙄⁣ ⁣ “Eligibility for any female category event at the Olympic Games or any other IOC event, including individual and team sports, is now limited to,” what the IOC terms, “biological women” or athletes assigned female at birth.⁣ ⁣ The IOC and its president, Kirsty Coventry, said they wanted a clear policy, and according to them, “it would not be fair for biological males to compete in the female category.” 🤔⁣ ⁣ Sports should be a safe space for all—this is not how you create that environment.
