This year I combined a few methods of growing food and came up with something that is actually working out great so far. Inspired by book on Hot Beds by jackfirst42 I created tower filled with manure and compost. Using the Winter Sowing method (that I actually started earlier, in October) to obtain peas and salads for early crop. Added few seeds of radishes, few onion sets, and kohlrabi started indoor in the middle of winter. Covered everything with a dome what would act as a protection from wind and frost but also added holes so rain water and melting snow could irrigated the plants/seeds. Initially I had to replace first batch of compost in two of my towers as it turned out to be super weedy and I couldn’t actually distinguish between seeds I sowed vs weeds. Later in the season I shall be adding summer crops like cucumbers, maybe beetroot, zucchini or small pumpkins.
