According to the Shiva Purana and poetic depictions like Kumarasambhavam, Shivji’s wedding procession was not merely a marriage journey — it was a convergence of the entire cosmos and all elements of existence.
Who all were present in that extraordinary baraat?
🔱 Shivji Himself — adorned in sacred ash, the Ganga flowing through His matted locks, the crescent moon upon His head, serpents around His neck, clad in tiger skin.
🐂 Nandi Ji — His mount and most devoted attendant.
👁️ The Shivgan — spirits, ghosts, ghouls, vetalas, yogis, siddhas, and ascetics.
🐍 The Nagas — serpents who were both His ornaments and His companions.
🔥 Ganas, Kinnaras, Gandharvas — in strange and wondrous forms, dancing and chanting.
🌺 The Devas — including Brahma Ji, Vishnu Ji, and other celestial beings, witnessing the divine union.
🏔 Even the Himalayas and the forces of nature seemed to partake in the sacred celebration.
