Her Legacy | Episode 8 A champion on both sides of the Atlantic, Nancy Roth Syms built one of the most impressive amateur careers of her era. In 1975, she achieved a remarkable feat — earning medalist honors at the U.S. Women’s Amateur, winning the British Ladies’ Amateur at St. Andrews, and capturing the Broadmoor Ladies Invitation, where she defeated future World Golf Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez in the final. Syms also represented the United States with distinction in international competition. She played on three winning U.S. Curtis Cup teams (1964, 1966, 1976) and later served as captain of the victorious 1980 team. Her dominance extended beyond international stages. Syms won five Florida state championships in the 1960s and captured the prestigious North and South Amateur title twice (1963, 1966). Through her success at golf’s most historic venues and championships, Nancy Roth Syms helped elevate the legacy of Colorado women’s golf. Her Legacy lives on. #HerLegacy #ColoradoGo...
