#YNWMelly requests to be released again after being in jail for seven years.
Melly’s new legal team filed a motion to set a bond in
#BrowardCounty, Fla., court. His attorneys argue that Melly is being held in dehumanizing conditions, having been in solitary confinement since December of 2021. They also say he hasn’t been able to see visitors for the past four years, with those privileges, along with his ability to use the phone, being revoked in 2022.
“In this case, [YNW Melly] is entitled to an evidentiary hearing for bond reconsideration due to changes in circumstances, and the emergence of additional evidence not previously considered by either this Court or the predecessor judge,” the filing reads.
YNW Melly is making his fourth attempt to secure bond after being arrested in February 2019 on double m-rder charges tied to the 2018 k-llings of his childhood friends. His first trial ended in a mistrial in 2023, and he is set to be retried in January 2027.
