Did my first triathlon today to test the waters (literally š) before the big T100. With little to no training and my last swim being two years ago I was rusty as hell, but I survived šŖš¼
Hereās what I learned from the chaos:
1.Tighten that ankle strap before you swim, or itāll wobble like itās trying to escape your leg.
2.For sprint distances, cleats arenāt really worth the hassle especially on flat routes, stick to your running shoes for a quick transition.
3.Bring a box to keep your gear next to your racked bike. Donāt assume the organizers will provide one.
4.I used my watch but a bike computer would've made my life easier for tracking my distance, speed & so that I can focus on the road.
5.Invest in good anti-fog swimming goggles. Seeing where youāre going is underrated.
6.Donāt rely too much on the number of loops you think you have to do on the bike. Watch your distance closely or youāll either finish too early (Guilty š«£) or end up doing an extra lap for free.
