If every pregnancy is different… why do twins suddenly come with a strict deadline? Out of curiosity — and a little fun — I fed ChatGPT a bunch of data from my past pregnancies, labors, and my current pregnancy stats. Its response? “The average spontaneous mono/di twin labor is 35–37 weeks, with many providers recommending delivery by 36 weeks even if labor hasn’t started.” Then it ran its prediction… 37–38 weeks. Another interesting statistic? Less than 1% of twin births happen outside of a hospital, largely because many states require an OB (not a midwife) to deliver multiples. Finding a provider comfortable supporting that kind of birth can be incredibly difficult. I feel really fortunate to live somewhere that makes it possible for families to have more options. But now the real question is… How accurate do we think the algorithm is? ChatGPT says 37–38 weeks. When do you think these babies will decide to arrive? #twinpregnancy #monoditwins #birthchoices #expectingtwins...
