I used to dread bedtime. Mainly because our method and process felt / feels like the extreme side of what one might call attachment parenting — each kiddo gets one on one time with a parent until they fall asleep. And even with our kiddos being “older” now, there are still many nights where falling asleep takes an hour. But something shifted for me recently. It could be the pending arrival of the twins. It could be the realization that this sacred ritual is fleeting. It could be the restructured thinking and perspective I now bring. Brit and I have created a safe and warm and loving home. A place where each of our children have at least one moment every day they can depend on to get that special solo connection and time. And that’s when I remember, that this phase of life we’re in is for them — not us. #bedtimeroutine #attachmentparenting #raisethemkind #parentingwithpurpose
