My hot takes as a 4th-time home birth mom currently pregnant with twins.
After three births, years of childbirth education, and a lot of learning along the way, there are a few things I feel strongly about when it comes to labor and birth.
Some people might call them controversial.
For me, they’re simply the philosophies that have shaped my birth experiences.
• Routine cervical checks are optional
• Induction shouldn’t be the default plan
• Birth isn’t a medical emergency unless it becomes one
• Home birth is the safest environment for me
• Doula support is non-negotiable
• Movement during labor matters more than people realize
Birth is deeply personal.
And every family deserves the space to make informed choices about what feels safest and most aligned for them.
So I’m curious. What is one birth opinion you’ll stand by no matter what?
