Apparently, one of the most shocking things about my twin pregnancy is that I’m not scheduling an induction.
In the U.S., about 1 in 4 women are induced instead of going into labor naturally (this number has tripled since the late 1980s, when it was around 9%). Are there emergencies where induction is lifesaving? Of course. But the number of inductions today is far higher than most people realize. And also not medically necessary.
