Passover has always been a cornerstone of our Jewish identity. When Brit and I first celebrated together, we realized that marrying another Jew didn’t just mean shared beliefs — it meant embracing each other’s traditions. I’m Ashkenazi; Brit is Sephardic. Our first Seder together was a beautiful blend of customs: from the foods we prepared to the melodies we sang. Over time, we’ve created our own family traditions, honoring both heritages. This year, as we gathered around our table, the joy was tinged with sorrow. There are still 59 hostages being held in Gaza, 24 of whom are believed to be alive. Their absence is felt deeply in our community.  Passover teaches us about liberation and the journey from oppression to freedom. As we recite “Let my people go,” we are reminded that this plea is not just historical — it’s painfully current. We won’t stop advocating. We won’t stop remembering.
