And just like that, for the first time in 7 years, I am not pregnant or breastfeeding. 🤱🏻 I’ve been procrastinating this post — a milestone, sure — but something I’m still trying to wrap my head around.
Since getting pregnant with Thea seven years ago, I have either been pregnant, breastfeeding, or both. My body not my own. A joy and a pleasure and a gift. But also full of sacrifice, hardships, and tears.
I remember when Thea was born, making a goal just to make it to 6 weeks of exclusively breastfeeding her.
Now, three kids later, I breastfeed Thea until her third birthday; Nathan just shy of his second; and Zoe just recently stopped, days after turning two.
