Everything changed when I stopped telling myself I needed the gym to train.
As someone who genuinely enjoys data, performance metrics, and progressive overload, I love tracking variables when time and resources allow. But the reality is, especially when travelling, movement looks different.
The physiological goal while away is simple: maintain lean mass, support metabolic health, and regulate mood through consistent, accessible movement. That means prioritising form, activation, and repeatability, often with just bodyweight or a band.
This glute circuit is one I’ve kept on rotation. No gym. No noise. Just strategic, consistent stimulus, done in my hotel room between meetings (because yes, the balcony setup was getting too many curious glances from the staff).
The truth is: Movement doesn’t need to be complex or punishing to be effective. It needs to be appropriate, adaptable, and aligned with your current environment and capacity.
