Controversial HYROX advice
Take fewer HYROX classes.
Run more instead.
Most HYROX races last 75 to 100 minutes.
Most people train in 60 minute classes that include a warm up and a cool down.
That mismatch matters.
If your body is only trained to handle forty to forty five minutes of work, it should not be surprising when things fall apart late in the race. HYROX does not test how hard you can go for one hour. It tests how well you can sustain output for much longer than that.
Running solves this problem.
A 90 to 120 minute run builds aerobic capacity, muscular endurance, and mental durability in a way short mixed workouts cannot. It teaches your heart rate to settle, your breathing to stay controlled, and your pace to remain steady deep into fatigue.
HYROX classes are not bad.
They are just incomplete on their own.
Use them for strength and skill.
Use running to build the engine.
If you want to perform better in a race that lasts well over an hour, your training has to reflect...
