HYROX training advice you might not wanna hear
You have to run more.
Not fancy intervals. Not random classes. Not hard for the sake of hard.
Real running. Purposeful running. Consistent running.
Here are the three reasons why.
One. Running is half the race
Eight runs. Eight stations. You spend more total time running than doing any other single movement. If your running is slow, your race is slow. There is no way around it.
Two. Running controls your heart rate
If your aerobic system is weak, your heart rate spikes after every station and never settles. Strong runners recover faster, hold steadier effort, and fall apart less in the back half.
Three. Running builds durability
HYROX is over an hour. You need leg strength, tendon strength, and movement efficiency. All three come from consistent weekly mileage.
Most athletes are trying to outlift a race that is really a test of aerobic control. If you want results, you have to run.
