Indochina Stop
#2: Cambodia
Phnom Penh—a city where the past never really leaves. Once part of the powerful Angkor Empire, Cambodia was a land of grandeur, temples, and kings. But that glory turned to horror under the Khmer Rouge. I spoke with someone who fled China’s Cultural Revolution, only to lose 17 out of 20 family members here in the genocide. The beauty is undeniable—golden temples, French colonial charm—but there’s a weight in the air. A land full of blessings… and curses.
