Week one finished — 26 boiler rooms down, 74 chances left to question my career choices 🔧⚡️
Kicked off a six-week welding marathon, upgrading pipework in 100 boiler rooms so future engineers can read pressure and temperature without using guesswork or witchcraft. Oh, and the main energy centre sprung a leak — because apparently, nothing says “progress” like a mid-week plumbing tantrum.
Welding’s been the easy part — standing in a cramped, overheated plant room, breathing in the smell of scorched metal and regret. The real challenge? Dragging heavy kit through a maze of rooms designed by someone who clearly hated tradesmen. I’ve carried the welder so far this week I’m starting to think we’re in a relationship.
But hey, 26 rooms done. That’s either impressive or a warning sign. The welds are clean, the work’s solid, and the sarcasm’s the only thing holding my spine together. Onwards — because nothing screams “job satisfaction” like mild dehydration and a sore back.
