Nearly two decades ago, a specially modified train in France achieved something extraordinary. Running on conventional steel wheels and rails, the TGV reached an astonishing speed of 574 km/h, pushing the limits of traditional rail technology far beyond what most thought possible.
At first glance, it might seem similar to everyday high-speed trains. But this wasn’t a standard run. Engineers had carefully optimized every detail — from aerodynamics and wheel design to power output and track conditions. The train used specially prepared tracks, increased electrical power, and modified components to handle the extreme forces involved at such speeds.
