It’s a little bit more difficult to stay lean during the holidays. Who doesn’t like to eat good food? You think it’s any easier for me to eat chicken when there are cookies and pizza staring at me from across the table? Nope.
Having said that, here are a few of my tips to cope with the holiday season:
1. I Limit food intake period in the day to 3pm-10pm. Yeap, I eat one meal at 3, one meal around 8, and finish with a snack at 10. This way, all my meals are big meals. I don’t do any of that 6 small meals a day stuff. I have a busy work life that is far removed from fitness, so no clock-watching for me or carrying around 6-pak bags.
2. I drink a large amount of water first thing in the morning. There’s no need to start my day with food. It’s not like I chopped down a forest in my sleep.
3. I do my workouts faster and rest less between sets. Don’t want to do cardio? Me neither. That’s why I decrease rest between sets to get the benefits of both aerobic and anaerobic workouts.
