Yesterday, we lit a spark.
200 of us — barbers and hairdressers — freezing our fingers off in Parliament Square. Scissors in hand, banners flying, some cutting hair on the street like absolute legends. Did we terrify politicians? Not yet. But 200 becomes 500, 500 becomes thousands — and soon, we’ll stop traffic and make them spill their fancy coffees.
Right now, it’s VAT. An unfair, broken system strangling our industry. But this is just the beginning. Today we fight tax. Tomorrow? Training, funding, respect. We’ve been ignored too long.
Self-employed, employed, salon, barbershop — doesn’t matter. We bicker like siblings, but when it’s time to fight, we must stand shoulder to shoulder.
I marched not for me, but for us. Because one day, it might be my turn to need you shouting by my side.
This was round one. Next time, we bring the hordes. Louder. Bigger. Unstoppable. All for one, and one for all — and someone please bring a heater.
