🌍 my reflections after 10 amazing days in Cyprus 🇨🇾, the beautiful island located 3,000 km from Sweden (which is about a 4-hour flight), but only 70 km south of Turkey, 100 km west of Syria, and about 250 km northwest of Israel. 🚗 Left-hand driving is insane – don’t try this at home! 🔌 British electrical standards mean you’ll need adapters. 🤝 The people are incredibly kind, service-minded, and understanding. 🌿 Tidy and clean environment with modern infrastructure. Cashless and contactless payments everywhere – it really feels like Europe. 🏛️ The architecture is a bit messy with no clear planning, especially for landmarks and old buildings – a shame given their rich heritage. 🗣️ English is spoken everywhere, and all signs are in both Greek and English. 🚫 No flies and few mosquitos, but beware of cockroaches at night and tiny, nearly invisible ants that give very painful bites. 🌊 Crystal clear and super warm water, but the sea is quite barren with few organisms and no ...
