The Sons of Asbury Park, New Jersey - Okinawa, Japan - April 1945 Joseph John Petillo, was the son of Gavino and Lucia Petillo, and brother of Angelo, Patrick and Anthony “Putt Putt” Petillo. He resided on Dewitt Ave., Asbury Park, New Jersey. He was a member of Company F, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force. Private First Class Petillo was killed in action on April 13, 1945, two days before his 23rd birthday.
