„sadašnje mesto“
i was asked to take part in a group-exhibition, curated by Kyril Elcow.
it should take place in an old house, build 1751 , it is now a cultural centre owned and led by Arina Tshukomina.
Its a magic place. And the little town, named Sremsko Karlovci, for 300+ years, has been a cornerstone of Serbian diplomacy, church authority, culture, education—and Bermet wine.
„the home of now“, or „the present place“ , the theme is the search for a sense of home in the present - shifting away from nostalgia toward the here and now. This exhibition is part of a project for migration and refugees from the humanitarian centre Novi Sad.
This was my idea for the exhibition:
For me, the sense of home — wherever I go in the world, and I have been to many places — is my mother’s food.
Nostalgia hits me hard here, since she has passed away. My favorite dish of hers was *Sarma* (cabbage rolls), and it was the last meal she cooked for me before she died. All my friends used to gather in ...
