Check your knees! Knee health doesn’t live in isolation. It’s influenced by what’s happening above it and below it. For now, let’s discuss the ankle. Adequate ankle mobility allows the knee to load, decelerate, and absorb force the way it was designed to. When that mobility is limited, stress gets pushed into the knee and performance (and durability) suffers. Just as important is exposing the knee to progressive time under tension. Holding positions, controlling ranges, and loading tissue over time improves both tolerance and capacity for sport. But none of this happens by accident. Ankle mobility, knee loading, and tissue capacity all need to be intentionally assessed and checked off during the RTP process. If you want to learn more about how to assess, train, and progress these concepts in real athletes, check out advancedrehabcertification.com for more info. #sportsmedicine #athletictraining #trainlikeapro #nbatrainer #physicaltherapy
