Perfect example of an athletic training removing an athlete after hit that clearly “looks” like a concussion but was not deemed one. So (and this is just my outsiders opinion of what happened) he was hit, removed from the field of play, assessed for a concussion & was not placed back in the game to monitor for concussion-like symptoms. This is something I would do a lot while I was with UCLA. We all know that concussion symptoms can develop 24-(in some cases) 48 hours after a traumatic event and sometimes they never develop at all. So in an incident like this, it’s always wise to remove and monitor. This is something sport coaches struggle with because there’s no immediately symptoms so they tend to think the athlete is fine. This is the opportune moment to tell the coach how concussions symptoms work. I use this as an example because I feel like concussion research is the most evolving.
