Ever felt like your brain works against you? 🤦🏼‍♀️ So here it goes… For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with my mind. I’ve always felt too intensely. Couldn’t regulate my thoughts or behaviours. Struggled at school. And went on to live an incredibly chaotic (and often dark) adult life—alcohol abuse, financial issues, mental health battles… the list goes on. I felt stuck. I used to say, “I just feel like I’m wired differently.” But I didn’t mean it in a good way. I thought it meant I was broken. That I was failing at being a “normal” person. Always being told I was too much. Too annoying. Too emotional. Too intense. I carried low self-esteem and so much shame for years. Getting a late ADHD diagnosis brought relief… but also grief. Relief that I wasn’t the terrible human I thought I was. Relief that I could finally understand myself better. But also grief—for the life I could have lived, if I’d had the right help sooner. If you’ve ever felt like your brain works again...
