A day unlike any other, a day of victory, celebration, joy, tears, and pride. A Syrian day. A great national day. With nearly one million Syrian men and women gathered in Umayyad Square in downtown Damascus to celebrate the first anniversary of the liberation of the Syrian Arab Republic from the criminal dictatorship of the Assad regime and its allies. With family, friends, and every Syrian across the globe, we celebrate this day, and I couldn’t stop myself from sharing how I witnessed it through my lens.
