Burpee broad jumps are one of the best “transfer” movements for HYROX – if you train them with intention, not just chaos. Here’s how to use them to get better on the station, not just more tired: 1️⃣ Set your target, not your ego • Aim for a consistent jump distance you can hold for the whole set, not your max jump every rep. • Think: smooth bounds forward, not wild flying and crashing. 2️⃣ Nail the burpee part first • Hands under shoulders, step or hop back into a strong plank (no sagging hips). • Chest touches lightly, then push back up with tension in the core. • Keep your feet landing just outside your hands – that puts you in a powerful jump position. 3️⃣ Use your legs, not your lower back • Before you jump, sit the hips back slightly, chest up, eyes forward. • Drive through glutes and quads, swing the arms, and land softly with knees bent. • Think: “quiet landing” – if it sounds loud, you’re probably landing too stiff. 4️⃣ Breathe on purpose • Exhale as you jump, qu...
