I recall my experience doing walking lunges after the run at Hyrox when I started feeling cramping in my thigh. It was quite concerning, especially seeing others having to stop and receive treatment for similar issues. 1. Shorten your steps — save the hamstrings!
➡️ When the cramps creep in, reduce your stride length. Focus on controlled, shorter lunges. This eases the stretch on your quads or hamstrings and keeps you moving without pulling up.
2. Drop your pace, not your form
➡️ Slow it down and breathe. Rushing through lunges when fatigued increases the risk of full-blown cramps. Reset your breathing and keep form tight.
