Formula 1 media access works very differently from what most fans think.
In Formula 1 media there are two main types of accreditation.
Race-by-race access means you apply separately for each race. It’s reviewed event by event and is considered a lower-priority tier, with limited access and less continuity inside the paddock.
Permanent access is granted for an entire season. It’s higher priority and based on long-term trust, consistent delivery and proven reliability over time.
According to FIA media accreditation guidelines, permanent access requires attending a minimum of 14 Grands Prix in a season on a race-by-race basis.
This structure is central to how Formula 1 media access actually works.
