#steelsector by becoming a shareholder in Swedish green steel producer Stegra, marking a strategic move into low-carbon industrial production.
The investment was made as part of a capital increase carried out by Stegra to finance the construction of its low-carbon steel production facility in Boden in northern Sweden. The project is considered one of Europe’s most ambitious
#green #industry initiatives.
According to reports, Stegra issued approximately 850 million new shares to support the completion of its plant. With this share issuance, the total number of company shares increased by about 23 percent, and Koç Holding, together with members of the Koç family, joined the group of new investors.
The Turkish group reportedly subscribed to around 2 percent of the newly issued shares, signaling its first direct step into the global iron and steel industry through an international partnership.
