Many patients with GERD or chronic acidity have been taking medications for months or even years, yet symptoms keep returning. They experience burning in the chest, bloating after meals, throat discomfort, or heaviness in the stomach — and are told it is “just acidity.” But in many of these cases, the underlying issue is not simply excess acid. It reflects impaired gastric function. When stomach function is compromised, digestion weakens, nutrient absorption reduces, and reflux persists despite medication. This is why symptom suppression alone does not create lasting recovery. Proper clinical assessment of gastric physiology, digestive capacity, and metabolic function becomes essential. This is the focus of my work with complex gastric and metabolic cases. Consultation available for structured clinical assesment. Comment GERD if you are dealing with persistent reflux. sonamfunctionalmed . . . . . . #functionalmedicine #acidity #gerd #acidreflux
