In a 1:1 session once, I asked a client what it would look like if she gave herself permission to feel her emotions.
She paused… then asked, “Even the bad ones?”
Yes. Especially those.
Anger shows you where your boundaries have been crossed, where our fear is still primed to fight for survival and where we are still braced in protection mode.
Sadness points to unprocessed grief, to unmet needs, to desires that feel too vulnerable to claim so we brace for disappointment before even giving ourselves a chance.
Anxiety highlights where you’re stuck or out of alignment. When emotions aren’t processed they get stuck in the body. Energy needs to move.
Frustration tells you a new approach is needed, where your strategies are outdated, the spaces where you have outgrown your current nervous system programming.
