You’ve probably heard the Big Rocks analogy.
It comes from a talk by Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
Here’s how he explained it:
A professor stood in front of a class with a jar.
He filled it with big rocks and asked, “Is it full?”
Then he poured in pebbles. Then sand. Then water.
Everything fit - because he started with the big rocks.
Your calendar works the same way.
If you fill your day with whatever shows up first - meetings, other people’s priorities,
…there’s no room left for the things that matter most to YOU.
Here’s how to flip that:
1️⃣ Name your Big Rocks
The things that move your life or work forward.
Mine this week:
→ Anniversary dinner
→ A 1:1 health coaching session
→ Two pre-booked HIIT workouts
→ Coaching workshop for Longevity Center launch
2️⃣ Schedule them first
→ Put them in your calendar before the day gets claimed
→ Say: “I have another commitment at this time....
