Here’s the reality from someone actually living here.
Yes — emergency alerts were sent.
Yes — people followed safety instructions.
Yes — schools paused as a precaution.
And yes, when alarms ring you feel a moment of uncertainty and fear and heart beats fast
You look at your child
And you say a prayer of protection
And then you carry on..
Atleast that's my reality
But there is a difference between uncertainty and panic.
Systems activated.
Updates were communicated.
Leadership showed up not through media
But in person.. At the mall
People adapted.
Kids played holi
Families continue to observe Ramadan with peace
Meanwhile global media coverage and social media commentary have created a very different narrative.
Apparently if you say you feel safe here you must be paid to say so.
Or spreading “toxic positivity”.
