On Saturday, November 1st at 5:30 p.m., I had a video chat with Juno Vets about my 11-month-old Vizsla, Torin. He had kennel cough that suspected had turned to pneumonia. They viewed a video & sent me emergency care. At 6:30 p.m., I arrived at Central Toronto Veterinary Referral & Emergency Clinic (CTVRC). The vet tech asked who referred me. When I said Juno and showed her the video, she dismissed it, said they were wrong, and told me “this isn’t an emergency.” She never touched him. No vitals. No triage. No oxygen. He just stood there at the back of the room. She sent us home. The next morning, Sunday, November 2nd at 7 a.m., I pushed for the earliest avail appt w/Juno. We arrived at Juno Leslieville at 8:05a.m. Torin was pale, drooling, breathing fast, and hadn’t eaten or drunk in 24 hours. They gave him an anti-nausea injection, prescribed antibiotics, and told me to make sure he ate before giving them. No one said his condition was life-threatening. No one offered oxygen. I left ...
