It was an other worldly experience to witness the Bhasm Arati of Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain. Waking up at 2AM & reaching the temple by 3 AM for the Arati that goes on daily from 4-6 AM was quite something!! A potent Jyotirlinga, Mahakal signifies the timelessness of the universe & its cycles of creation, destruction and rejuvenation. To sit right in front of the deity & witness the 2 hour long Arati was ethereal. The newly developed Mahakal Lok corridor depicting various stories & characters of our epics is the latest attraction!
